Ch. Nek Alam S/O Ch. Karam Elahi played a very very important role in the development of Kharian City, what is Kharian today is just because of his efforts and struggle. His name tells us that what kind of man he was, we should rather call him "Nek" to "Alam" (kind to world). At that time he sent unemployed people of Kharian in Europe, specially in Norway, Denmark and England and the result is that now Kharian is the RICHEST Tehsil of Pakistan. Ch. Asghar Ali was born in Kharian (1942). He studied in kharian primary school after starting his College in zamindara college, he went to england in1962, he was son of Ch. Gulam Rasool, who was also very respected personality and had done lots of things for kharian he was the one who stood against Fazal Ilahi, He got record votes (he was President .of PML also) but unable to elect because of that time election dandali.

Ch. Asghar Ali went to england and there he also took part in social activities in 1962 and tried to help other muslim brothers. He was a role modle for people, and He started his political career from england there he stood in election from labour party and was ELECTED IN ENGLAND.

Ch. Qamar Zaman Kaira born in January 5, 1960 in Kharian, he is Member of National Assembly and Minister of Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas, He was elected twice. He has done Masters of Arts (Philosophy) from University of the Punjab, Lahore. He is a businessman and agriculturist by profession.
He belongs to PPPP, in 2008 Elections he was elected with a big lead, he is well educated person, his family is well known in the region.

He is often seen in Political Discussion Shows on TV. We hope he will do good for the development of Kharian city. Kharian really needs good roads and streets, let us see if he will do something in this regard.

Fazal Ilahi Chaudhry was born in Gujjar Marala village, near the city of Kharian. He received his early education from his hometown and went to Aligarh University and later Punjab University from where he got a law degree, and went into practising law.

He did his M. A. in Political Science in 1925 and took his degree of Law from the University of Punjab in 1927. After completing his education, he went back to Gujrat and started practising Law. He took part in the election of Gujrat District Board and was elected unopposed.

Ch. Tanveer Ashraf Kaira was elected MPA in 2002 elections, he belongs to PPPP , he was born on 1960-08-25, he has done MBA from Sussex University, UK.

His cousin, Mr Qamar Zaman, is a sitting Member of National Assembly. His uncle, Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam Kaira, was Member Punjab Assembly during 1990-93 and his uncle, Haji Muhammad Asghar Kaira, was Member Punjab Assembly during 1985-88 and Member National during 1988-90 and 1993-96.
